| Hydrocodone
relieves pain. Acetaminophen is a less potent pain
reliever that increases the effects of
hydrocodone. Together, acetaminophen and
hydrocodone are most commonly used to relieve
moderate-to-severe pain. Acetaminophen and
hydrocodone may also be used for purposes other
than those listed here. Vicodin is a combination of a narcotic hydrocodone and a non-narcotic acetaminophen (paracetamol) used to relieve moderate to severe pain. For the relief of moderate to severe pain the morphine derivative codeine is used, mainly in combinations with paracetamol. This combination is also called Co-codamol or Codeine Phosphate, which has a higher concentration of Codeine (up to 50 mg). Co-codamol and Codeine Phosphate can be used as a cheap and safe alternative to Vicodin. |
